Associated Students of Central Washington University and the Kittitas County Auditor's Office are partnering again for an Election Assistance Center. Also, a new type of Accessible Voting Unit is being used as a pilot project.
Central Washington University students are again hosting an Election Assistance Center (EAC) at the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) on the Central Washington University Campus. The EAC is set up to assist students in the voting process. Computers and printers are available to students to access their ballot from where they are registered to vote, print it, sign the declaration and either mail it to the respective county or deposit in one of the drop boxes and the Kittitas County Auditor will forward to the proper county.
Also, Kittitas County will be the pilot county in Washington for a new, smaller Accessible Voting Unit. This product is provided by Democracy Live together with Microsoft. This unit allows people with disabilities, and anyone else who wishes, to mark a ballot secretly and independently and print it for mailing or deposit in a drop box. There will be one available at CWU at the student EAC at the SURC on the 4th and 5th of November.
