ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Central Washington University is expecting more than 600 high school and community college students, their families, and friends to the university’s fall open house, titled “Experience Central,” this Saturday, October 13, during the university’s annual homecoming.
“Many students come here as a direct result of visiting our campus,” said Chris Wright, CWU’s Open House and Visitation Program coordinator. “This event gives students a chance to visit campus, who otherwise may not be able to do so.”
Following welcoming remarks from CWU President James L. Gaudino at 9:00 a.m., university faculty, staff, and students will showcase what the university has to offer in the way of academic programs and learning opportunities, athletic and recreational activities, financial aid, housing, and student clubs and organizations.
At 11:50 a.m., the visitors will be invited to a pep rally before the Wildcats’ homecoming football game against Simon Fraser University at 1:00 p.m.
Experience Central begins at 7:30 a.m. with tours of the Student Union and Recreation Center. Campus tours start at 8:00 a.m.
