The CWU 2009-10 Club
The CWU SNATS is a club focused on reaching out to students and faculty across campus that have an interest in vocal music and in expanding their knowledge of vocal music. As a club our goal is to expand our knowledge by attending performances and providing performance opportunities for those involved in the club. SNATS is a student chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and provides support to students in NATS competitions and by sponsoring vocal workshops and clinicians. SNATS also strives to build unity amongst singers, and use vocal music in community service opportunities to serve and better the Ellensburg and Central Washington University community.
Anyone interested in vocal music may be a member of the Central Washington University SNATS chapter. This includes Central Washington University students, alumni, and faculty, as well as members of the Ellensburg community. Active members must pay annual dues in order to earn voting privileges, and club associated discounts at events.
Some of the highlights of a SNATS year include attending numerous performances throughout the Northwest, our annual Christmas Caroling and Christmas Party Day, and hosting our annual Bella Notte dinner. Bella Notte is a favorite evening of delicious Italian food served by the club members, wonderful Italian songs and arias performed by CWU vocal students and a Silent Auction featuring donated items from the local community.
Every year SNATS participates in a number of organized events including but not limited to:
Ring in the holidays with legendary violinist Geoffrey Castle’s Celtic Christmas Celebration, a cCWU Musical, Theatre Offerings Light Up The Holidays
