CWU Opera Ensemble to the Fantastic Operatic Favorite: The Magic Flute

The CWU Opera Ensemble’s production of The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart opens on May 6th  in the CWU Jerilyn S. McIntyre Music Building. The Magic Flute will be co-directed by Gayla and Tor Blaisdell and performed in collaboration with the CWU Chamber Orchestra directed by Aaron Hirsch.

The Magic Flute is a fantastic journey into an imaginary realm of dragons, mystical trials, temptations and colorful characters. The opera will feature an updated English translation by Kelley Rourke and will include some interesting twists on the 18th century original.  The Magic Flute is the perfect entrée into opera for both children and adults who have never seen a full operatic production and it is a favorite staple of the operatic canon for the opera lover.

Performances will be on May 6th  at 7 p.m. and on May 7th  at 2 p.m. Visit our Tickets Page to purchase advance tickets.

The CWU Opera Ensemble will also be performing The Magic Flute at the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth, WA on May 13th  at 7 p.m. and May 14th  at 2 p.m.
