The Master of Music Program is designed to provide opportunity for in-depth study in an area of specialization, to increase professional competence in teaching and performance, and to prepare for continued self-directed study or advanced graduate study.

The following degree programs are available: 

• Composition
• Conducting
• Performance
• Performance-Pedagogy
• Music Education new for 2012

In addition, the following secondary areas of study (cognates) are available:

• Composition
• Conducting
• Jazz Pedagogy
• Music Theory
• Performance
• Performance-Pedagogy
• Music Education
• Music History

By combining a primary area of study (degree program) with a secondary area of study (cognate) a CWU Music Graduate Student can create a customized program that addresses interests, strengths, weaknesses and preparation for further advanced graduate study.
