The Museum of Culture and Environment at Central Washington University announces a special contest. Have you ever imagined a place that doesn’t exist? What would it look like? Is it a kingdom, a galaxy, or maybe just an amazing garden of unknown plants? The Museum of Culture and Environment invites you to bring your vision to life in the form of a map.
Contest rules: Create an original map of an imaginary place – it can be inspired by a book, movie, or be entirely of your own design. Your map can depict anything from a town up to a galaxy! Please keep in mind that your map must be able to be mounted on a wall. Please limit your entries to no larger than 24” square.
Who can enter? All ages welcome from campus and from the community. Special competition for those under 12 years old!
Prizes: $25 gift cards from local stores will be awarded to four mapmakers. Entries will be judged by CWU artists and geographers. Winners will be contacted by phone or email no later than Friday, June 8, 2012.
Please bring your map to be displayed in the new exhibition Through the Rabbit Hole: A Journey into Imaginary Worlds
Maps and entry forms must be received by Friday, June 1, 2012 at 12 noon.
