Traditional Mentoring - Be a mentor through one of our mentoring programs that best fits your interest, experience, and schedule.

Professional Development - If you have limited time but would like to engage with students once a quarter or once a year, then sign up to do any of the following:

  • Be a guest speaker for a class, club or student event
  • Review student resumes
  • Conduct Mock interviews (phone, Skype, or in-person)
  • Invite students to a work-site visit
  • Offer informational interviews (students ask questions about your career path by   phone, email, Skype or in-person)

OUR STORY

Alumni and Constituent Relations and Career Services partnered to create the Professional Network. The Professional Network is a multifaceted resource for developing mentorship and utilizes the Wildcat Career Network to offer multiple ways for alumni and other professionals to engage with students. The online system also serves as a centralized place for securing data for participating mentoring programs.

Student Alumni Association Mentoring Logo

SAA Career Mentoring provides an opportunity for Student Alumni Association members to gain valuable guidance on a variety of career-related topics including one-on-one advice, networking, interviewing and job shadowing. Mentors provide a positive and lasting influence on students, and impact the Central community in a meaningful way, by sharing knowledge and expertise.

Mentors and Mentees interact at least once a month by email, phone, social media, or in-person:

  • Review resume and other professional documents
  • Job shadow; company tour
  • Mock interviews
  • Share internship and job opportunities
  • Share industry related articles and links
  • Identify professional, industry or civic organizations
  • Attend a networking event

College of Business Logo
CWU Business Connect provides College of Business students the opportunity to increase their career readines through professional development programming and mentorship.

Professional Network focuses on connecting students with alumni and other professionals through activities such as guest speaker, career related workshops, company site visits, and judging case competitions.

Mentorship pairs business professionals with students based on industry preference and personal interests. Mentors and Mentees interact at least once a month by email, phone, social media, or in-person:

  • Review resume and other professional documents; mock interviews
  • Job shadow; company tour
  • Share internship and job opportunities; share industry related articles and links
  • Identify professional, industry or civic organizations and attend a meeting or networking event
