Summary
The Faculty Development and Research Committee (FDRC) has established a limited number of competitive Faculty Release Appointments to assist CWU tenured/tenure track faculty members with their research, creative and scholarly activities or new /enhanced program development. These activities are expected to benefit the scholar(s), their respective departments, and graduate studies in general at CWU. Release time is awarded in the academic year, and a stipend of up to $5,000 is awarded for the summer quarter.
Eligibility
Any CWU faculty member who is employed on a full-time, continuing academic year appointment at the rank of assistant professor or higher may apply for the award. Faculty can apply annually, however, priority will be given to those who have not been awarded from the FDRC within the last 2 years. It is expected that the faculty member shall remain at CWU for one academic year following completion of the release time.
