Faculty Research/Creative Activity Support Awards |
Monetary support for research or creative activity up to $3,000. See below for detailed information. Deadline for submission: November 17, 2021 and March 23, 2022 |
Faculty Travel Awards |
Limited funding is available for faculty who are presenting research or creative work. Faculty may receive up to $300 in matching funds (one award per fiscal year [July 1 - June 30]). The primary funding, which is required to receive our matching funds, must come from an on-campus source (e.g., provost, college dean, department, etc.). See below for detailed information. |
The Faculty Development and Research Committee (FDRC) has established a limited number of competitive research/creative activity support awards for tenure track/tenured faculty members. The maximum amount available per academic year, per individual project, is $3,000. These competitive awards provide seed funds to faculty to support quality research and creative activities of importance to their respective disciplines as well as to the reputation of CWU in general.

Limited funding is available for faculty who are presenting research or creative work. Faculty may receive up to $300 in matching funds (one award per fiscal year [July 1 - June 30]). The primary funding, which is required to receive our matching funds, must come from an on-campus source (e.g., provost, college dean, department, etc.). Faculty who are co-presenting the same research or creative work at the same venue with another CWU faculty member(s) must split the award equally between all co-presenters who apply for funding.
Travel funding for this award may be utilized for the following expenditures: ground fare, airfare, lodging, and conference registrations. Per diem (meals) will not be reimbursed. Reimbursement must occur within six months of the travel and within the same fiscal year as the travel as per CWU Travel Policies. All other policies and procedures related to travel will apply. To apply for travel matching funds, please email the following information and documentation to Diane Houser. Applications not adhering to the below requirements will be denied.
Upon receipt of a complete application, an email will be sent to the applicant with a commitment of funds and further instructions for preparation of the Travel Authorization Form and/or Travel Expense Report.
