Graduate Studies a Critical Factor of CWU Success

Provost Levine highlighted Graduate Studies task force report in her weekly column "At The Heart of It".  In her column she states, "Graduate studies and active research, in fact, are what make CWU a true university rather than simply a college. Particularly in this time of increasing competition for quality students and faculty, from even community colleges now offering their own four year degrees, the very presence of graduate studies and active faculty research is what gives CWU a competitive edge. It is also an important marker of the most up- to-date higher education teaching and research capacity that is most attractive to the best and brightest student and faculty applicants. In short, graduate studies and research is the competitive difference that makes a difference for CWU.
