Purpose and Overview

The Graduate Online Teaching Award (GOTA) is designed as an incentive for graduate faculty to become trained in online/multimodal graduate curricular delivery.  As such, the GOTA supports the development of more online/multimodal graduate offerings and the possibility for more fully online/diversely delivered graduate degree programs.
Award Amount: $500 for documented attendance at the Faculty Institute for Online Teaching and an additional $500 for the full completion of the Master Online Teaching certification, both offered at CWU’s Center for Multimodal Education. Click here for the full details:

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a current CWU tenured or tenure-earning full or associate graduate faculty member
  • Have submitted final reports for all previously awarded internal funding from the School of Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR)
  • Be teaching, or planning to teach, graduate level courses over the next three years

Submission Requirements:

  • Award Activity Summary: A brief summary of graduate level courses previously taught and proposed course(s) to be rendered online or multimodal as well as how the GOTA will help make this latter happen.  Limit 750 words, 12 point font, double-spaced.
  • Abbreviated CV

Final Report

Describing how this incentive award aided progress in online/multimodal teaching at the graduate level is required of all awardees: Limit 2 single-sided pages, 12 inch font, double-spaced.
