Dale & Mary Jo Comstock Distinguished Thesis Award

The School of Graduate Studies is proud to announce that the Dale and Mary Jo Comstock Distinguished Thesis Award winner for 2017 is Ms. Alexis (Lexi) Renfro a MA, Enlish Literature graduate.

Ms. Renfro's thesis, 'Metaphysics of Mania: Edgar Allan Poe's and Herman Melville's Rebranding of Madness During the American Asylum Movement'  was nominated by her chair Dr. Michael Johnson who wrote that her committee agreed that it "counts among a select group of two or three truly excellent theses they had read in over twenty years." 

Along with a check for $1,000.00, Ms. Renfro was honored at the Graduate Student Hooding Ceremony on June 9.
