Biology Faculty and Students Working with WSDOT I-90 Snoqualmie Pass Project

Central Washington University Biological Sciences faculty member Jason Irwin recently presented a Washington State Department of Transportation webinar based on Monitoring Amphibian Movements in the I‐90 Snoqualmie Pass Project. The Interstate‐90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project involves substantial improvements to handle larger traffic volumes, reduce closures due to avalanches, and enhance wildlife connectivity. Wetland mitigation and significant improvements to potential crossing structures have increased the number of breeding sites and enhanced the movements of aquatic amphibians across I‐90.
