Flip That Monster Tire

Central Washington University Cadets grabbed the monster tire and flipped it 20 meters one way, then turn around and flipped it back during the Sandhurst Competition April 11-12, 2014, at the US Military Academy at West Point, New York.

The tire flip was part of a four-station Department of Military Instruction Challenge designed as a team-building event. From the event, the Cadets should learn troop leading procedures, anticipating challenges they are going to face as a future platoon leader, and managing the strengths and weaknesses and dispositions of their soldiers during operations.

Wildcats qualified for silver on one event and gold on another at the 2014 Sandhurst Military Skills Competition at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York, April 11-12.

Cadet Codey Paulsen, a law and justice major at CWU, said the competition taught him lessons about being a good leader and gave his team invaluable experience.
