Writing Center

The CWU Online Learning Commons provides peer writing and math tutoring services for all University Center and online-major students. Writing and math tutors can work with you on any assignment for any class to help you build your academic writing, research, and problem-solving skills. Tutoring is available through Outlook email, Skype, or the "Online Learning Commons" in Canvas.

Email Consultations (writing): Email consultations are available on a first-come/first-served basis by emailing your paper as a Word.doc attachment to onlinetutoring@cwu.edu. Email requests should come from your CWU Outlook email account and include the following:
Name & Student ID
Campus & Major
Year of study (Junior/Senior, etc.)
Languages spoken
Course # and Professor
How you heard about our services

Skype Consultations (writing): Please email onlinetutoring@cwu.edu to arrange for a Skype appointment. Our Skype address is CWU-UWC.

Canvas Consultations (writing and math): University Center and online-major students are automatically enrolled in the "Online Learning Commons" in Canvas where live tutoring sessions are conducted through Blackboard Collaborate. If you are interested in receiving real-time online writing or math help, please log into the "Online Learning Commons" under your Canvas course list, check the calendar/scheduler for specific tutors' drop-in hours, and select Blackboard Collaborate from the Canvas directory (at the far-left of the page) to enter a live tutoring session.

In order to help us process your request in the most timely manner, please also complete our student information form at bit/ly/OnlineTutoringAppt.
