Women in Law Enforcement Career Fair

The King County Sheriff’s Office is working on a new initiative developed from a grass-roots effort of a coalition of female officers from various agencies in Washington State. This goal of this effort and coalition is the recruiting and hiring of women in both sworn and non-sworn law enforcement positions. These positions include sworn peace officers, corrections, probation, 911 operators, evidence techs, fingerprint techs, etc..

The first ever Women in Law Enforcement career fair is coming up at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center on February 13th of this year. It is focused on diversity recruitment and hiring into all fields of law enforcement. In its mission, the King County Sheriff’s Office is committed to increasing numbers of law enforcement personnel and also enhancing the possibility that those new to the field will represent demographically the communities they serve.

The KCSO would like to reach students of all ages and invite them to this event. There will be many booths, light refreshments and various law enforcement agency displays and presentations.
