Ellensburg LAJ Major Jessica Carlson was featured in the May 3-9 edition of the CWU Observer!
There’s a time-tested cliché that says to truly understand another person’s thoughts, actions and feelings you must first walk a mile in their shoes. Senior Jessie Carlson and the Wellness Center decided to take it a bit further and asked that people instead run five kilometers in their own footwear for the ‘Run, Walk and Roll Your Way Through the Route to Hope 5K.’
Considering the distance Carlson herself has come over the past two years, it’s a pretty simple request. [...] Carlson, a double major in law and justice and sociology, understands what it’s like to need guidance during hard times. She hopes that the event will help give students and community members an idea of where to turn to when in need of support.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Department of Law and Justice, and in celebration of thaLAJ Selfie!
