Language Literacy and Special Education
Literacy Minor
The Literacy minor, with campus and field experiences, is designed to prepare literacy teachers and strengthen background preparation of secondary, middle school, special education, early childhood, and elementary teachers.
Literacy Minors are eligible for the Washington State P-12 Reading Specialist Endorsement.
- EDLT 308 and EDLT 409 are prerequisites for enrolling in the required courses in the minor . The minor should be commenced in the junior year.
- EDLT 493 also requires permission of the department (designated as the instructor of EDLT 493). Permission will not be granted until six required courses in the Literacy minor, excluding prerequisite courses, are completed or will be completed the quarter prior to enrollment.
