I have been working in eCommerce for the last 18 years: the first five years as a web developer / programmer then last 13 in Online marketing/Email marketing / Systems Integration. I'm the eCommerce Integration Director at JS Products. I have been close to all the changes that have come to eCommerce / Online Retail. The growth and change has been amazing! I am excited to see how every year new technology and strategies push retailing and marketing forward.

I grew up in Ellensburg, but have lived in Rhode Island, Utah, California, Wisconsin, Brazil, and Seattle. My family just moved to Henderson, NV last year and I'm excited to be part of CWU ITAM.

I love hiking, camping, snowboarding, and spending time with my family. I'm a big fan of Doctor Who, Star Wars, old cars, and geeky/techy stuff. For fun I like to write code.

I have a Bachelors degree in Business with an emphasis in Information Systems from Brigham Young University and then went back to BYU for a Masters in Business Administration after 5 years of work experience. During the MBA I had an emphasis in Strategy and Marketing. I love seeing how all of the pieces fit together and how each small change in strategy can affect business.

Donald "Jeff" Allen, Lecturer, Information Technology and Administrative Management (ITAM) at CWUAdvice to Students:

My advice to students is don't treat your classes as something to endure or get through, but see them as opportunities to try new things. Make the assignments and projects meaningful to your personal learning journey! Take on challenges and grow from the experience.

For example in RMT 350 the project is to create an ecommerce store. So, I recommend picking something that you would really do if you were to open an online store. What are you passionate about, what matters to you. Don't just get the grade, but think if I was building this online store in real life as a business what would I do?

Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it;
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
