National Student Exchange (NSE)

The National Student Exchange (NSE) provides opportunities for you to study for a quarter, semester or year at another NSE college or university in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands - all while continuing to pay regular tuition at CWU or in-state tuition at the NSE host university. Students can also use their current financial aid on a NSE exchange. NSE Programs are very often less expensive than CWU.

Next Steps

Go to nse.org to find more information about the school such as classes, campus size, location, and student life. Think about these sorts of questions:

  • Region of the U.S. do you prefer / want to avoid?
  • How big or small of a city or university you are comfortable with.
  • On-campus or off-campus housing.
  • Type of classes do you need to take
  • Transportation
  • If considering Canada (French) or Porto Rico (Spanish), necessary language skills.

Contact study abroad staff at the CWU Study Abroad Office at goabroad@cwu.edu to ask questions, make an appointment, or for application help.
