Attend an Information Session to learn basic information about study abroad, program options, and locations. Then identify your goals for studying abroad and research program options.
Research program options. Be sure to compare course offerings, costs, eligibility requirements, and application deadlines for each program under consideration.
Discuss with your Academic or Major Advisor about how courses taken abroad will count toward your degree requirement
Meet with a Study Abroad Advisor to clarify your goals and learn more about program options. To schedule an appointment call (509) 963-3622.
Research scholarship opportunities and meet with a CWU Financial Aid Counselor to learn how your financial aid can be used to study abroad.
Once you have chosen a program, download the relevant application form from our web site and submit all application materials to Roberta Lowe, the SAEP Secretary, located in the Room 109B.
Apply for your passport. Application instructions are available on the U.S. State Department website.
Upon acceptance, pay program deposits, complete all acceptance paperwork, and attend a mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation. (You will also need to meet with a Financial Aid Counselor if you plan to use financial aid toward your study abroad program.)
Apply for your student visa (if required). Visa instructions should be included in your acceptance packet. If not, contact SAEP for more information. This step can take two months or more, so don’t delay!
Reserve your airline ticket, pay your final program fee, and pack your suitcase. It’s time to start the adventure of a lifetime!
