About Internal Audit

Welcome to Internal Audit at Central Washington University. We hope you will take a few moments to review our site. Our goals for this web site are to provide you with information about Internal Audit and show the ways in which we can assist the university community.

Internal Audit conducts a variety of audit and advisory related audit engagements designed to proactively identify risks and to evaluate internal controls, with the ultimate goal to strengthen operations of Central Washington University. To maintain independence, Internal Audit reports functionally to the Board of Trustees Audit Committee and administratively to the Vice President of Finance & Administration.

Internal Audit also works as a consultant in areas of cash handling, conflict of interest, compliance and operational internal controls. In addition to formal audits and investigations, we also manage the CWU Hotline and the dissemination and submissions of annual conflict of interest disclosures.

University employees are encouraged to report improper governmental actions. Our Hotline and FAQs web page provides information on this process and the Hotline web form provides an anonymous reporting tool.
