Faculty Workload and Activity Reporting Project

Project Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to assess and identify faculty workload and activity reporting requirements, provide decision support information, and to build or buy/interface and implement a faculty workload and activity reporting solution that will simplify data entry and retrieval for faculty and administration.  Providing an efficient system will reduce administrative time and therefore support enhancement of the faculty/student experience.

The solution needs to:

  • Provide a central repository for faculty information activities and accomplishments in the following areas:  Workload (includes instruction, scholarship and service), Activity Reporting, and Evaluation.
  • Provide cumulative information at various levels, including individual, department, college, university.
  • Provide accessibility of information to Faculty, Department Chairs, Deans, and the Provost.

We have completed the review of various options (build or buy/interface), made the recommendation to buy/interface, and received approval to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a system.   RFP responses will be evaluated and a vendor selection recommendation will be made.  Once an award is made and a contract is in place, we will move ahead with implementation with a projected completion date of May 2013.
