Requirements for Animal Research

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) implemented new requirements in 2015 for all faculty, staff, and students who will be conducting research or teaching that involves the use of live vertebrate animals. These changes include:
1. Medical clearance through CWU’s Occupational Health and Safety Program before working with animals
2. Completion of ACU (Animal Care and Use) training courses through the online CITI Program
Both of these requirements must be completed before any new IACUC protocols will be approved.
