The CWU Human Subjects Review Council (HSRC), also known as the "institutional review board" (IRB), is appointed by the Provost/Vice President for Academic and Student Life.
The Human Subjects Review Council recommends that principal investigators turn in research proposals at least six weeks prior to a scheduled HSRC meetings.

Academic Year 2012-2013: Oct. 10, Nov. 7, Nov. 28, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, March 6, April 3, May 1, June 5, July-August, as needed
It can take up to six weeks for the Human Subjects Review Council to process an application requiring full Council review; however, due to variances of the HSRC workload, processing time may be longer. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that all applications (especially those under deadlines due to grant funding) be submitted as early as possible.
