Required Training for Supervisors

Skilled supervisors improve employee morale, decrease turnover, and help reduce grievances and litigation. To support our supervisors, CWU provides foundational training for new supervisors as well as opportunities for individualized and ongoing growth.

Program Name

Leadership Foundation Certificate

Within 6 months of becoming a supervisor.

New CWU supervisors are required to complete 24 hours of supervisory training within their first 6 months in position. This is fulfilled by completing the Leadership Foundation Certificate.

Step 1: Attend Leadership Skills for New CWU Supervisors.
Enroll Now (Search By Course Numbers - HRM025 and HRM026. Must attend both courses to receive credit.)

Step 2: Choose 8 hours of additional Supervisor Enrichment Program (SEP) training.

Find SEP lectures and workshops by logging in to MyCWU > Employee Tab > Training Folder > Request Training Enrollment > Search by Course Number > SEP

Step 3: Once you’ve completed your 24 hours of training, fill out the Leadership Foundation Certificate Completion Form and send it to Central Learning Academy at MS 7425 or email to
