Supervising in an Academic Environment
A skilled supervisor can improve employee morale, decrease turnover, and help reduce grievances and litigation. The SEP provides training you need in order to transition from a non-supervisory role to that of a supervisor with responsibility for developing staff. It also offers strategies and techniques to make you more effective in completing your day-to-day supervisory responsibilities.
As a result of completing the SEP, supervisors will understand the various responsibilities pertaining to supervision within the CWU environment. The SEP covers key supervisory competencies presented in a format that allows participants time to absorb what they've learned and to try out new skills before continuing on to the next session.
Required for supervisors in accordance with WAC 357-34-065
