Beginning with the 2014-15 academic year, faculty may request their salary be spread over a 12-month period. Currently, faculty pay is disbursed only during the academic year, with no wage payments during the summer months unless faculty have an additional summer contract. Under this newly available option, faculty will receive a paycheck from October through September, receiving an equivalent gross amount each pay period.
For example, under the 12-month pay spread option, a faculty member with a $63,000, annual salary would receive 24 paychecks-each with a gross amount of $2,625. When spread over 18 paychecks, from October through June, the gross amount each payday would be $3,500.
