CWU HOMECOMING WEEK

October 8 - 13, 2018

Show your Wildcat Pride at this year's Homecoming celebrations!
We're working up a great week of events, so save these dates and stay tuned for details.


MONDAY, OCT. 8

  • 9th Annual Latinx Welcome
    SURC Ballroom | 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

    This event, hosted by the Latinx Alumni Association, brings awareness to, and recognition of, the Latinx population, both on campus and within the surrounding communities. We invite you to join us in welcoming our Latinx students, staff, and faculty at this annual event focused on togetherness and culture. For more information, contact Miriam Bocchetti.
     
  • Monday Movie Madness ft. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" 
    SURC Theatre | 7:00 & 9:30 p.m. shows | Free/Students, $3/GA

TUESDAY, OCT. 9

  • Central's Talent Showcase | SURC Ballroom | 8 p.m.
    Students from each residence hall will hit the stage to perform, so show your support and celebrate Wildcat talent at this free event. Hosted by the CWU Residence Hall Association.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 10

  • Student Club Fair | SURC 137 & East Patio | 12 - 3 p.m.
    Students, now is a great chance to get to know your clubs and organizations on campus! Hosted by ASCWU Student Government.
     
  • Wellington's Wildfire | CWU Challenge Course Complex (Map) | 6 - 9 p.m.
    Make your way to this massive bonfire celebration with CWU athletic teams, clubs, organizations, ASCWU student government representatives, and fellow Wildcats. Try your hand at mastering the Challenge Course, or roast s’mores and enjoy entertainment with new friends! Hosted by ASCWU Student Government.

THURSDA​Y, OCT. 11

  • Homecoming Extravaganza | 4:30 - 10 p.m. | Barto Lawn & SURC Pit
    Celebrate Homecoming Week with fun sports-themed activities! Ladies, sign up for 4v4 flag football between 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.; everyone is invited to test their skills at the 40 yard dash and passing events. At 8 p.m, head to the SURC Pit for a special screening of Sandlot. Free pizza and popcorn, sponsored by CWU Recreation and CWU Campus Activities.

FRIDAY, O​CT. 12

  • Cristela Alonzo, 2018 CWU Homecoming EntertainerCristela Alonzo, Homecoming Entertainer | SURC Ballroom | 8 p.m.
    Cristela Alonzo was the first Latina in TV history to create, produce and star in her own network TV sitcom, “Cristela.” She currently stars in her Netflix special, “Lower Classy.”

  • Alumni After Hours | Elks Ballroom, Downtown Ellensburg | 9:30 - 11:30 p.m.
    Join us as we gather for an after-hours event at the Elks Building in downtown Ellensburg. Meet with fellow Wildcats while enjoying complimentary appetizers and beverages, and live music from The Rusty Cage Band. This event is exclusive to attendees 21 and over. Sponsored by the CWU Alumni Association

SATURDAY, OCT. 13

  • Lunch with the CWU Football Team | 2 p.m. | Holmes Dining
    Registration Coming Soon

    Join the CWU Football team at this special pre-game luncheon! The cost will be $10 per person and is open to the public.

    Alumni Members: Join the CWU Alumni Association from 3 - 4 p.m. in SURC 137 A/B, for a special meeting. We'll be sharing the annual members report, as well as presenting the Alumni Association's recent activities. 
     
  • Wildcat bRUNch 5k | SURC Patio | Race starts at 10 a.m.
    Registration Information 

    Start your CWU Homecoming Saturday off right with a scenic 5k around the CWU campus. This year’s 5k will be breakfast themed! Participants will have the option (no pressure!) of finishing breakfast items such as juice, coffee, and doughnuts as they complete each kilometer of the race. Sponsored by CWU Recreation.
     
  • CWU Women's Soccer vs. Concordia | 12 p.m. | Details 
     
  • "World Without Walls," a Mexican Folklore Celebration | 1 p.m. | McConnell Theatre
    Join the cultural celebration with CWU's MeChA club, Mariachi Del Centro, Ballet Folklorico Los Bailadores Del Sol of Central Washington, Bailadores de Bronce of Seattle and celebrated performer Jose Iniguez. This event is free and open to all, with a suggested non-perishable food donation suggested (all proceeds to benefit the local APOYO food bank. For more information, email robert.lopez@cwu.edu
     
  • CWU Football Pre-Game Student Tailgate | 3:45 p.m. | South of Tomlinson Stadium

  • CWU Football vs. Western Oregon University | 6 p.m., doors open at 4:30 | Tickets
    Alumni and Wildcat Club members are invited to visit the Alumni Plaza when doors open!
