There are many paths interested students can take to earn their nursing credentials. We recommend that students seek advising early to talk about possible options and create their best plan for success.
**Please note that virtually all schools require that students have earned their NAC (Nursing Assistant, Certified) credentials before admission into nursing school.
To meet the requirements for admission to nursing school, students must usually complete the following courses. All students must double-check prerequisite courses at their top choices of schools for specific requirements as many nursing programs vary. Please see the prerequisites by school link (above) for information on specific prerequisites to BSN programs in the state of Washington.
- BIOL 355 & 356, Human Anatomy and Physiology (*BIOL 220 is a prerequisite for this sequence and CHEM 113 is the prerequisite for BIOL 220)--**Please note that these biology courses are offered on a limited basis
- CHEM 111, 112 & 113 with labs
- MATH 311, Statistical Concepts and Methods (*MATH 130 is a prerequisite for this course)
- PSY 313, Developmental Psychology (*PSY 101 is a prerequisite for this course)
- SOC 101, 107, OR 205
- NUTR 101
- ENG 101, 102
