Commonly Required Courses

The following information is provided for reference only and typically consists of the minimum requirements. Pre-pharmacy students must plan their course of study carefully and are responsible for knowing the prerequisite courses for their top choices of school, as many schools require additional prerequisite coursework.

  • MATH 170 OR 172
  • MATH 311 (*MATH 130 is a prerequisite to this course)
  • CHEM 181, 182, 183 with labs (*MATH 153 is a prerequisite to CHEM 183)
  • BIOL 181, 182, 183 with labs (*CHEM 181, 182, 183 is a co- or prerequisite)
  • CHEM 361, 362, 363 with labs
  • CHEM 431, 432 (required at WSU)
  • BIO 355, 356
  • ENG 101, 102, 310
  • BIO 323
  • PSY 101
  • COM 207 or 250
  • BIO 422
  • ECON 201

In addition, students are encouraged to take a broad range of humanities and social sciences courses.
