Students interested in occupational therapy as a career must documented voluntary or work experience of at least 40 hours with persons with disabilities. A portion of these hours must be shadowing an Occupational Therapist in at least two different practices. You will be required to submit a letter of reference from a registered Occupational Therapist who has observed you in a health care setting long enough to make a fair appraisal about your promise. Please be aware that some programs may require more than 40 hours of volunteer experience. Please check the program to which you are applying for more information.
