Dr. Marianne Auten, professor of counseling at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, will lead a workshop in strategies for developing "grit," or the passion and perseverance for pursuing long-term goals, in students. This workshop for educators and others who work with students is based on the work of renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, who developed Mindset as a powerful tool linking motivation and resiliency to student success.
Dr. Auten's visit is sponsored by Student Achievement in the CWU Student Success division. For more information, contact Lisa Berthon, CWU academic counselor, at 509-963-3523 or email@example.com.
