Working with private citizens, government agencies, and tribal members, geographers with an interest in geosciences pursue careers that involve such activities as:
- mapping watersheds and floodplains
- conducting environmental impact analyses
- collecting and analyzing field data on natural systems, including soils and plate tectonics
