College of the Sciences

Jacqueline Stanton

After earning a B.A. in Geography in 2009, I earned a Masters of Library and Information Studies from Florida State University in 2012.

My current employer is King County Library System, and my job title is Public Service Assistant. I spend the majority of my work day at the library information desk helping people find what they are looking for, and this sometimes includes geographic information.

I also advocate for the acquisition of books that contain maps in addition to text and illustrations.

When I take the next step in my career and become a Teen Services Librarian, I will be able to use mapping software and data to put together a spatial analysis of the community I serve and improve library outreach programs.
