Greg Moore

After graduating from Central I went on to get a Master of Urban and Regional Planning at California State University, Fresno in 1978.  From there I went on to a 20 year Career in City Planning with three cities; Colville, Redmond and Federal way all in Washington.  My last city position was Director of Community Development Services with the Federal Way.

In 1999 I went to work for Quadrant Homes (a Weyerhaeuser subsidiary).  I had a ten year career there.  For my last eight years I was the General Manager of Northwest Landing the 3,000 acres Master Planned Community in DuPont Washington.
My geography degree was a great background for my 30 year career in public and private land development.  The geography professors that were there during my years at Central were Jacubeck, Katz, Hammond, Resler, Andres and Eberhart.  I took my first Land Use Planning class from Jacubek.

I had a 10 hour a week job in the Geography Department while a student.  I had proposed a task while there; creating a list of graduates and how they were using their degrees.  It was posted in the  hallway. Interestingly, Katz (Chair) would not let me add the current (at the time) President of Central (Dr. Brooks a Central Geography graduate)!

In 2011 my wife and graduated from SPU with a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy.  We are currently therapists in private practice specializing in couples.  Our practice is in Federal Way, Washington.  www.moorecounselingfederalway.com
My roots at Central go deep.  My wife, daughter, mother-in-law and two brother-in-laws are all Central graduates.  My mother-in-law Gail Jones was a former Alumni Director for Central and my father-in-law Dr. Jerry Jones was a chemistry professor and later an administrator, including Legislative Liaison to the State of Washington and Special Assistant to President Don Garrity.
