Geographic survey of human livelihood and interaction with the environment. Agriculture, industry, and urbanization are examined in the context of an increasingly interdependent world system.

Knowledge and Skills Developed:

• Knowledge of the concepts and theories used in economic geography.
• Awareness of the main patterns and long-term trends in the spatial organization of agriculture, manufacturing, services, and distribution and the factors shaping those patterns and trends.
• Ability to interpret, the effects of economic changes upon real places using the concepts of the course.
• Experience working in groups to analyze the economic geography of Washington State.
