May 3, 2017

ELLENSBURG, Washington — Payscale.com, a national college rating website, ranks Central Washington University as among the top public universities in the state of Washington for return on investment (ROI).

According to Payscale, CWU ranks just below Washington State University and three University of Washington campuses in the state. CWU’s return on investment is in the top 10 percent nationally, with the university tied for 180th best out of a total of 1,818 schools in the survey.

The ranking only considered graduates in eight disciplines and among those CWU’s business majors ROI ranks in the top 10 percent nationally. CWU’s humanities, sciences, and psychology alumni are all in the top quarter of the national rankings.

Payscale estimates the ROI based on the total cost of college, including tuition, room, board, books, etc. which is multiplied times the average time to graduate. To view the entire Payscale.com report, visit payscale.com/college-roi.
