CWU Tuition Awards and CWU Grants

Need-based institutional aid for undergraduate Washington State residents.

Eligibility Requirements:	● Resident student with need ● FAFSA required
Annual Limits:	$300 - $2,100 Can bring institutional aid up to $3,600.

Dependents of Disabled or Deceased Fire and Police

Tuition waiver for dependent students of disabled or deceased Fire or Police.

Eligibility Requirements:	● Document eligibility through CWU Veteran Affairs ● Office 509-963-1229 ● FAFSA required
Annual Limits:	Full tuition waiver

Dependents of CWU Employees

Tuition waiver for dependent students of CWU Employees.

Eligibility Requirements:	● Contact Human Resources ● admitted and degree seeking ● < 25 years old ● 2.25 GPA required ● Limited to 12 quarters in a 5 year period.
Annual Limits:	½ tuition waiver

Veteran Dependent Waiver

Full tuition waiver for dependents or spouse of a disabled or deceased veteran.

Central Grant

CWU will grant $500 per quarter to veterans who have served in Foreign Conflict

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

The Western Undergraduate Exchange Program allows students throughout the western United States to enroll at a reduced tuition rate while seeking their undergraduate degree. Depending on the funding and the number of students interested there may be a limited number of WUE awards.

*Participating states include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

Eligibility Requirements 2012:	● Have residency in one of the participating states* ● High school students must have a minimum ● Admissions Index (AI) of 28 ● Transfer students must have a 2.5 GPA ● Maintain a cumulative 2.00 GPA; ● Early Admission ● FAFSA required
Eligibility Requirements 2013:	● Have residency in one of the participating states* ● Maintain a cumulative 2.00 GPA; ● Must not have received your first Bachelors degree; and ● Must not have received this award for more than 12 ● quarters or exceeded 225 attempted credits. ● FAFSA required
Annual Limits:	● Calculated annually ● Student pays 1.5 times state tuition

President's Tuition Award (FAFSA required)

CWU Offers the Presidents Tuition award to incoming resident Freshman who are fully admitted by April 1st and how have an Admission Index (AI) of 75 or more. This tuition waiver is available for one year only. Requires 2.75 cumulative GPA (checked quarterly).

Trustee's Tuition Award (FAFSA required)

CWU offers the Deans Tuition Award to incoming resident Freshman who are fully admitted by April 1st and who have an Admission Index (AI) 56 to 74. This tuition waiver is available for one year only. Requires 2.75 cumulative GPA (checked quarterly).

Freshman Scholar Tuition Award (FAFSA required)

CWU offers the Wildcat Tuition Award to incoming Freshmen who are admitted by April 1st and have an Admission Index (AI) of 40-55. One year only. Requires 2.75 cumulative GPA (checked quarterly).

Transfer Scholar Tuition Award (FAFSA required)

CWU offers the Transfer Scholar Tuition Award to transfer students with a GPA of 3.5 - 4.0 who were admitted by April 1st .

Douglas Honors College (FAFSA required)

Requires 2.75 cumulative GPA (checked quarterly).

Step Waiver (FAFSA required)

Requires 3.0 cumulative GPA (checked quarterly).

Dean's Waiver (FAFSA required)

Awarded by Dean or designee. Requires 2.75 cumulative GPA (checked quarterly).
