Mid-Columbia Fisheries (MCF) seeks to fill up to two Office / Project Assistant – Work Study position to work out of our Ellensburg office. We are seeking a hard-working, dedicated Central Washington University Student (who qualifies for work study) interested in working on habitat restoration projects, education & outreach, and office tasks. The assistant may at times work independently or with staff, landowners, agency partners, volunteers, youth, and interns. Work will occur throughout the Yakima Basin under the supervision of the Program Director. The position will require a minimum of 25 week commitment from October to April, working an average 10-19 hours per week. Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group is a non-profit, community based group dedicated to restoring self-sustaining populations of salmon and steelhead. Mid-Columbia Fisheries works with landowners and community partners to protect and restore fish habitat. The Mid-Columbia region includes the Yakima Basin, the Klickitat, White Salmon, and Wind Rivers, and numerous smaller tributaries in Skamania, Klickitat, Benton, Yakima, Kittitas and Franklin Counties. Duties & Responsibilities: 
Primary Responsibilities Include: • Updating the Mid-Columbia Fisheries’ website and media post. • Secretarial tasks including ordering supplies, organizing, data entry, etc. • Assisting with organizing stream clean-ups and other events. • Assisting with community outreach events, educational events, field trips, and “salmon in the classroom” program. • May assist staff with leading volunteer work parties. • May assist with report writing and creating outreach materials. • And other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Sills Needed: 
Skills and Qualifications: • Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and be able to work with school aged children. • Have an interest in working with the public and school children. • Must have basic computer skills, including word and excel. • Be a motivated, self-directed, and hard-working. • Willing to work flexible hours and willing to work some weekends. • Willing to work outside in inclement weather conditions. • Should have an interest in and enthusiasm for environmental conservation. • Must be eligible for Financial Aid Work Study
