Job Description: 
Students will assist and advise the Planning Director with tasks associated with the update, which will enrich their understanding of long range planning and with their development of useful planning skills and knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
Duties & Responsibilities: Students will assist and advise the Planning Director with tasks associated with the update, which will enrich their understanding of long range planning and with their development of useful planning skills and knowledge. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: research on WA Growth Management Act regulations and requirements for periodic CPUs, advise Planning staff and Commission, develop and amend schedules, write and edit CPU elements (chapters), identify inconsistencies between the CPU and City development regulations and draft proposed edits, among other relevant tasks.
Minimum Qualifications / Sills Needed: 
Minimum Qualifications/Skills Needed: The student must possess excellent writing and general office skills, some training in landscape planning, geography, and GIS. Previous experience with Cle Elum Planning and Planning Commission required.

Tasks will include professional level communication skills, including email, written, and public speaking and presentation skills; independent and group work; writing, editing, and collaborating on documents. Students will learn skills from multiple staff members, but primarily from the Planning Director.
