Tuition Waiver Request Process

  • The requestor will complete a Tuition Waiver Request Form, which can be found at the following link: https://www.cwu.edu/financial-affairs/tuition-waiver-budget-subcommittee
  • The requestor will submit the form and any associated documentation via email to the Tuition Waiver Budget Subcommittee (della.gonzales@cwu.edu). The deadline for submission is the first of each month by 5pm. Submissions received after the deadline will be considered the following month.
  • The waiver request will be sent out to the committee in advance of their first meeting of the month to review and score using the established rubric.
  • At the first meeting of the month, the committee will discuss all received waiver requests, the rubric scores for each, and will develop a list of questions related to each waiver request.
  • After the first monthly meeting, the committee will reach out to the requestor and provide the list of questions related to their waiver request, as well as a calendar invitation to attend the second Tuition Waiver Budget Subcommittee meeting of the month to address those questions with the committee.
  • At the second Tuition Waiver Budget Subcommittee meeting of the month, requestors will attend to address the questions related to their request.
  • The subcommittee will consider all of the information provided and will prepare their recommendation for each request; these recommendations will then be forwarded to the President’s Budget Advisory Committee for a final decision.

 

Monthly Timeline

1st of the Month by 5pm: Tuition Waiver Requests due

First Tuition Waiver Budget Subcommittee Meeting of the Month: All requests and associated rubric scores reviewed; questions developed and provided to the requestors

Second Tuition Waiver Budget Subcommittee Meeting of the Month: Requestors invited to attend and respond to committee questions; committee develops recommendations on that month’s waiver requests and forwards recommendations to the President’s Budget Advisory Council (PBAC)

**If no waiver requests are received by the first of the month, the second Tuition Waiver Budget Subcommittee meeting of the month will be canceled
