FVS Brown Bag & Occasional Seminars present unique opportunities for FVS faculty and students to meet periodically with visiting members of the film and television industry &/or media scholars to exchange ideas, learn about ongoing production projects, discuss new techniques or technologies in production or to learn about recent scholarly research in film & media. The setting is informal and typically scheduled over the lunch hour (unless otherwise noted).

His present film, The Longoria Affair (2010), tells the story of a key injustice—the refusal, by a small-town funeral home in Texas after World War II, to care for a dead Mexican American soldier’s body “because the whites wouldn’t like it”—and shows how the incident sparked outrage nationwide. John J. Valadez is also a founding member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. A Brown Bag Discussion with Sage BannickJanuary 10, 2011 Sage Bannick is an independent filmmaker based in Winthrop, WA. Bannick has produced and starred in several short films and produced his first feature film, Just Hustle, in 2004. While promoting his film, Bannick set up Last Night, LLC as his primary production company. For his second feature film The Absent (2010), Bannick not only wrote and produced but also took on the directing responsibilities.
