In order to seek placements for the Pre-Autumn and Student Teaching field experiences, students must have submitted fingerprints and obtained background clearance from both the Washington State Patrol (WSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Fingerprint clearance is a standard requirement for employment in school districts. Clearance is usually valid for two years from date of issuance (not date of fingerprint submission).
Livescan technology enables students' prints to be submitted electronically and significantly increases the likelihood of having ‘readable’ or ‘usable’ prints. Students on or near the Ellensburg campus may call (509) 963-2661 to schedule an appointment for prints to be scanned on campus.
Students may contact their local Educational Service District for information on processes and procedures for submitting fingerprints. Students on the Ellensburg campus may contact The Certification Office to inquire about on-campus fingerprinting availability
Deadlines for Field Experience are shown on the applications.
Deadline for Student Teaching is shown on the Deadlines/Checklist page.
