Check out the article here: <a href="/family/sites/">Coping with Loss</a></p>Grief Group Beginning in Winter 2018, 21 Oct 2017 09:29:10<p>The Family Resource Center is proud to launcha new program in Winter 2018: A grief group for emerging adults (18-30 years old) who have expeirenced the death of a parent.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" src="/family/sites/" style="width: 200px; height: 200px;"></p><p>FIG: Forward in Grief is a combination support and educational grief group for emerging adults (18-30 years old) who have experienced the death of a parent(s). They must have lost their parent(s) when they were between the ages of 18 and 30. The group is designed for participants to learn about their unique grief in a safe place, practice reconciling their grief, and experience a little break from their grief through fun activities.</p><p>If you are interested in participating, please complete the <a href="/family/node/2513">sign-up form</a>&nbsp;or contact <a href="">Natalie Porter</a>. Natalie, a graduate students in Family and Child Life, developed the program based on the findings from her master's thesis on grief in emerging adulthood, and the empirical literature in this area.</p></p style="text-align: center;"></a href="">New Parenting Groups Featured in Observer, 20 Jan 2017 09:23:03<p>The Family Resource Center is offering two parenting programs in Winter: The Incredible Years program for parents of children ages 2-6, and the Mother2Mother program for mothers of children birth-3. For more information about the programs, contact Amy Claridge at or complete the <a href="">parenting group registration form</a>.&nbsp;</p>LIFT: Foster Youth Support Group, 29 Feb 2016 16:17:42<p>The Family Resource Center is launching a new program this Spring: LIFT! &nbsp;<span style="line-height: 16.8px;">LIFT is a support group and mentorship program for youth involved in foster care.</span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" src="/family/sites/" style="width: 400px; height: 119px;"></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.4;">LIFT provides a safe space for foster youth to have fun, explore their identity, develop social and life skills, process difficult family issues, and build relationships so that they may live up to their full potential.</span></p><p>Youth ages 10-18 years old who are involved in the foster care system are welcome to join. We are currently enrolling for the <a href="/family/sites/">group beginning in April</a>. The group begins April 4th and meets every Monday for 10 weeks.
