The Family and Consumer Sciences Education Association (FCSEA) is a voluntary organization of family and consumer sciences educators and others associated with or interested in family and consumer sciences instruction in schools and colleges.
Family and consumer sciences educators are dedicated to helping each individual help him or herself through a better understanding and control of family and community life. They work to improve the quality of family and consumer sciences instruction and to broaden the scope of the curriculum.
FCSEA promotes effective education programs, supplements existing services and resources available to family & consumer science educators, and cooperates with other associations in related fields.
FCSEA works with other organizations in the area of public policy through the Family and Consumer Sciences Coalition. FCSEA meets during the ACTE and AAFCS conventions. Its officers are elected by a mail ballot of the active membership.
FCSEA is a non-governance affiliate of the National Education Association, Association for Career and Technical Education, and American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
