Family Resource Center

The Family Resource Center is part of the Family Studies program and Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Central Washington University. The mission of the Family Resource Center is to provide programming to support families, coordinate family-related research, and provide civic engagement opportunities for students.

Current Projects:

Offering free parenting education classes in Ellensburg.

  • Classes are based on the empirically-supported Incredible Years program.
  • Classes take place over 10 weeks. Parents who attend 8 of the 10 classes receive a certificate of completion.

Research collaboration with Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, WA.

  • Collecting data to examine the efficacy of child life services in improving children's and their families' experience during hospitalization.
