Those nominating Marc said:
Marc McPherson, a seven-year veteran of CWU’s Public Safety and Police Services, is Central’s June Employee of the month. He is currently serving as an acting sergeant due to his training and experience. According to his nominators, “Marc is constantly looking for new and improved ways to complete tasks. In addition to patrol duties, he maintains the CWU patrol fleet and equipment. Marc is a task-oriented, go-to person and prides himself on producing complete and accurate [work]. “In addition to typical community policing, Marc is an ambassador of CWU and the department. He is a Rape Aggression Defense instructor and has volunteered countless hours to teach women techniques to stay safe. “Marc is a dedicated team player. He completed rescue training at his own expense for his hobby of climbing. During a climb up Mount Rainier to honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, he assisted in an unplanned rescue. He was one of three men who helped a climber who had fallen 30 feet into a crevasse at about 12,500 feet. “Marc is dedicated to both CWU and the profession of law enforcement. He is a well-rounded police officer and an important asset to our university.”
