EISC Meeting Minutes 3/17/2014

Enterprise Information Systems Committee Minutes
(Monday) March 17, 2014
9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Barge 410

Discussion Topic:
  • MS Exchange/Outlook was presented by Greg Harvill. Discussed what it would take to get system up and running with 3 different options to choose from. Making the straight jump to Outlook and 365 seems to be easier and cheaper. The biggest challenge will most likely be the migration of information. The problem that is trying to be solve is a good collaboration platform. Novell, GW and Edirectory are outdated and it is difficult to find a skilled technologist to work on those systems; sustainability is the issue. The group moved to send Option #3 on to the Cabinet. A launch timeline is still being discussed. Possibly Staff & Faculty in the fall, and then Students in winter quarter.
  • Document Imaging was presented by Adrian Naranjo. Project would include currently enrolled students. Will work to get the partnership with IS together. The group recommended to move forward with phase 1 of the project.
Business Case(s):
  • Interactive Projection Systems for CWU Centers was presented by Steve Stein. There is departmental funding for this project. This case should be handled by ATAC and is a departmental issue and after being approved. In the last conversation on this case EISC just wanted to know that it was approved by the Chair and Dean of the department. It is recommended that ATAC address the case and is being kicked back to them.

Sub Council Updates to ET:
