Dr. Matthew Altman, Director
Dr. Altman completed his undergraduate work at Albion College in 1994 and received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago in 2001. Since arriving at CWU in 2003, he has taught in the Douglas Honors College and in the Philosophy & Religious Studies Department. He was named director of the honors college in 2007, and he is also an assistant professor of philosophy.
Dr. Altman specializes in modern intellectual history, particularly Continental philosophy from Kant to Nietzsche; ethics and applied ethics; social and political philosophy; the philosophy of art; and the philosophy of education. He has published numerous articles as well as a book, titled A Companion to Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" (2008).
Christina Denison
Ms. Denison arrived in Ellensburg in the Fall of 1990 as a Central student. After an extended break in her education, she returned to Central and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in June, 2000. In February, 2006, after having worked many years as a legal assistant in the local legal community, she was hired by the Douglas Honors College. She has two daughters and her husband Jim is a local attorney.
